Could any of you Athertonians remember a Christine Francis who was married to Roy Francis and had 2 daughters - one called Julie with blonde hair but cannot remember the other daughters name. I am the daughter of John & Marjorie Corless who used to live in Bolton Road and North Road before we relocated to Lincolnshire.

I am trying to contact Christine with the tidings of bad news and would love to be able to contact her personally.

I would also like to know if anyone knows of the whereabouts of Carol Lloyd (nee Lancaster - daughter of Roy & Margaret) who used to live in Atherton as a girl until she married Steve Lloyd. She was last living in Leigh and was a hairdresser with her own business.

Can anyone help on these two issues please?

Yes I remember Christine, she and my Dad courted for a couple of years after both their marriages broke up around 1974.
In fact Christine and her 2 daughters (Julie and Jill ) and younger son Geoffrey came to live with us for a while, I was 15 at the time.
Unfortunately the relationship between my dad and Christine didn't work out and they split up.

I haven't actually seen Christine in all the years since, but I do still see her younger daughter Jill and son Geoffrey from time to time around Atherton.

Sorry I can't be of any real help at the moment but if see Jill or Geoffrey or Julie I will pass your message on and ask them to get in touch. I will also speak to my dad and ask him if he knows of Christine's whereabouts, I will be seeing him this evening.

Ok Lynne I will deffinately have a word if I see any of them.

According to my dad Christine Re-married eventually and went to live in Horwich near Bolton. As far has he knows
she still lives there.
