Joan Rivers undergoes more plastic surgery on a TV show!

Joan RiversN.B. Any opinions expressed or comments made within this column are those of Matt Howarth's, and are not those of Atherton Online.

No matter what your opinion of her, you cannot help but admire Joan Rivers. At 78-years of age, with her own range of jewellery, her on-going stage shows and now her own reality series in America there is certainly no signs of her slowing down. Her daughter Melissa, you may think is trying to gain a career on the back of her mums success, but her new series "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best " is remarkable in observing this weird but wonderful mother and daughter relationship.

Joan isn't just known for her uncensored and sometimes somewhat graphic opinions, but her openness in terms of discussing her plastic surgery. Some people may try to hide the fact they have had a nip, tuck or even a gastric band... but in Joan's case she seemingly doesn't have a problem in telling the world.

During her new American television series, cameras followed her as she was about to endure her 734th piece of surgery on her neck, despite concerns from her loved ones. Regardless of protesting and intervening from her daughter Melissa, Joan simply responded to her by saying:

'My body is a temple, and my temple needs redecorating.'

Joan is a woman which can only be saluted. Yes, she should have listened to her daughter, yes she shouldn't be having surgery for the 734th time and yes it is life threatening and a stupid thing to do, however her attitude in wanting to do as she pleases and wanting her face altered to her satisfaction can only be commended in a strange kind of way.joan rivers surgery

Her daughter Melissa, did hit home to her how dangerous the procedures can be... yet if anybody thinks that would put off the likes of Joan Rivers need to simply think again! She has such an admirable skill for still including her unique sense of humour in her day-to-day life and not afraid to be a little controversial, which makes her to be the true definition of a star of which she is today. With a career going back by many years and still being a true icon to many, that is the simple reason her outrageous behaviour and misguided attitude to things is acceptable... only from her!

Of course she won't regret her neck adjustment, despite her daughters raised concerns, nor do I also think this shall be her last trip under the knife.
For her sheer knowledge of wanting to know exactly what she wants and simply getting it done she is a woman who in the nicest possible sense of the word is strange, yet enchantingly unique. Despite her actions being completely incomprehensible to anybody else, for Joan it's just the norm. Good on her I say!
