We all know the downsides to "fast food", it is obvious that something which is churned out in such a quick amount of time, simply cannot be up to the standard to what you find on a delicate menu. We know the health effects from a McDonald's but seemingly as a nation we cannot resist driving past one of those big yellow M's without diverting through the drive through facility.
On the extremely rare occasions I find myself in Ronald McDonald's humble abode, I always order the same... "A Chicken Nugget meal please with a Strawberry Milkshake" do I consider the fact that the chicken within the nuggets is of the cheapest in terms of quality and is probably filled with horrific and ghastly chemicals? Of course not. I simply request a tomato sauce and have great pleasure in immersing each nugget in the red stuff!
It's comfort food, it's naughty and yet so strangely delicious.
Would I have it daily? No way!
One girl who has since the age of 2 is 17-year-old Stacey Irvine. Doctors warned her that the junk food is simply killing her and they were aghast when Ms Irvine from Castle Vale, Birmingham, told them her diet, when she collapsed and was taken to hospital after struggling to breathe.
Stacey has NEVER eaten fruit or vegetables and as a result of all the nuggets she was found to have swollen veins in her tongue and also anaemia.
Despite being warned about the health side of things, she still cannot resist the fast food. She admitted that One of her favourite pastimes is sharing 20 nuggets and a portion of fries with her boyfriend.
Her exasperated mother Evonne Irvine, 39,who is battling to get her daughter seen by a specialist, told the Sun newspaper: 'It breaks my heart to see her eating those damned nuggets.
'She's been told in no uncertain terms that she'll die if she carries on like this. But she says she can't eat anything else.'
Her mother even resorted to starving her daughter, but to no avail.
This girl is a prize prat if ever there was one. McDonald's stores all around the UK should be given her picture and demanded that no matter how much she pleas, do not serve her! Not that I blame McDonald's in the slightest, as us normal folk usually go there once every 6 months. Her mother, Evonne needs to seriously up her game and try a bit harder because to me it seems she has just shrugged her shoulders to the issue. Her boyfriend is clearly unsupportive and if he shares potions with her, encourages the poor girl!
All Stacey Irvine is worried about is where she can keep anymore of the Happy Meal toys which she gets as a gift with each portion. She has apparently four bin bags filled with the plastic child's toys.
Usually I would suggest this girl needs some form of treatment, some sort of psychological miracle, but her attitude just seems that she could not give a damn. Should she die as a result of continuing to eat the Chicken Nuggets, would it be that much of a travesty? She has been warned, forced and probably black mailed... yet still she insists on another portion after portion.
Somebody needs to take responsibility, eating nothing but nuggets since the age of 2 is nothing but despicable and I'm afraid int his situation the blame has to be on the parents.
This really does take the biscuit, or in this case the nugget!
