How disgusted I was to hear about Miss Joanna Jones’s experience with low-rent airline easyjet  who banned Miss Jones from travelling with her guide dog.

She was banned because they DIDN’T believe that Miss Jones’s Poodle-cross was a blind dog, despite Miss Jones flying with 6-year-old Orla on previous occasions. The ghastly staff at Gatwick wanted proof that her part-Labrador was trained. Joanna was stuck at check-in for two hours and then was told she was unable to board the flight. A confirmation email from guide dog officials arrived too late and Joanna had to stay at her mum's in Hampshire before getting the flight she needed to Belfast.

The visual awareness trainer, of Lisburn, Co Antrim, said: "I know rules are rules but I felt discriminated against." EasyJet said: "guide dogs need documents under flight rules".

Are easyjet staff at Gatwick stupid? I simply wish to go to Gatwick airport and find the dozy so and so who caused this problem for Miss Jones and interrogate her as to how someone can be so lacking in brain cells! easyjet are well-known for bad customer service and arrogant staff and quite frankly I think easyjet should spend some money on training their staff to a more appropriate calibre. My advice to Joanna is that she should sue. Transparently obvious it’s a guide dog, clearly easyjet are implying people these days who have dropped out of the education sector from a great height!

Not even an apology... one simple reason as to why I for one shall never be flying with easyjet in my career!
