Trafford Centre Delight!

The Trafford CentreI am still in shock that I and my own father went to the Trafford Centre for the first time in years this week! I declared a few years ago that I would never go again after bickering over the crowds, the prices and general ambiance. Allow me to take back my previous outburst and share my sheer delight of which I experienced this week, as I found myself once more... parading around in the rather impressive shopping facility. After an early morning get up, especially so I could avoid the hustle and bustle... at first being rather reserved and apprehensive, what a waste of emotion that was! as once I arrived I was greeted by the impressive structure, elegant concrete Lions and an ambiance which was upmarket and completely divine! Never have I been so thrilled to see a group of designer labels, brands and shops all under one roof!

what on earth have I been missing out on for the last 6 years or so? Surprisingly, my Dad also seemed to be sharing my joy and positive emotion about the familiar surroundings and even seemed to have a passion for the high class and high price establishments which were surrounding us. Albeit the journey was so I could introduce my Father to the Apple Computer shop and show him what he has been missing out on for the last century or 2... but I also managed to live up to my “Wanting” reputation and let myself loose on a designer brand shop! never a good thing, yet somewhat rewarding regardless of the financial damage. I always find it intriguing as to how all the purchases are nicely wrapped up in bubble wrap, placed into their own individual boxes, sellotaped and sealed to perfection and then given to you in a drawstring bag! it seems that you have to associate “quality” with the bag you get when you have shopped at the store!

Furthermore I was even impressed with the layout of the place... even though you can more than likely get lost in the surroundings, the many maps of the different levels were exact and clear enough to follow. I was even treated to a Cafe Latte to finish off, how thrilling! Needless to say I shall be going there more often... who needs Oxford Street?
