If I was to say genuinely how much I am enjoying Channel 4’s double helpings of Celebrity Coach Trip & Celebrity Come Dine With Me, I would probably come across as a slightly bit insane! but my, I am glued! cringe worthy & embarrassing for all concerned in both of the programmes instances, yet somewhat intensely pleasing! Okay we all know that Celebrities these days are hardly the same as they once were and especially in the cases of these two programmes Z-List is an entirely accurate description.
The Likes of Lizzie Cundy, Lembit Opik & Ex Big Brother contestant Brian Belo are on the coach trip of a lifetime. Of course I again state Z-LIST quite profoundly. Michael Barrymore is also taking part... the less said the better on that one I’m afraid. Celebrity Come Dine With Me serves up the delights that is celebrity dancer Andrew Stone, darts enthusiast Bobby George, Big Brother’s Chantelle Houghton, comedienne Cleo Rocos & my personal favourite ex Dead or Alive singer & loudmouth Pete Burns! The latter show again, not exactly serving up the Celebrity standards of Madonna, but these days however people from yesteryear and reality TV stars seem to hold the title of being in the public eye. Never have I been so entertained by two shows of this format in such a while. Probably the lowest of the low in TV terms but highly amusing. Come Dine With Me contestant Chantelle Houghton certainly serves up better dim comments than she does food, Chantelle told the nation that: “I may not know what the capital of Rome is, however I am not as stupid as I look, simply because I have got Blonde hair” Another amusing moment was when she had no idea what to whip the cream for her Eton Mess dessert with, she had to call a friend where she then asked,
“'How do you whip something, what do you whip it with? A whipper?”
ten minutes after the conversation an ecstatic Chantelle then thought she had solved the mystery of what to whip the cream with by saying,
“I know, it's called a whisker!”
With entertainment like that... can you really afford to miss it?
