I can’t say I’m a Lottery Player but us Brits seem to be literally in the money recently with this week’s £101 Million Euromillion winners being the third set of Brits to win big this year!
Dave & Angela Dawes from Cambridgeshire scooped the life changing amount and they have vowed to be quite pro-active with their money!
- They will make up to 20 friends millionaires
- Pair were watching live on television as numbers came up
- Couple aren't married but Angela took her partner's surname after divorce
- They share £70 per week one-bedroom flat but will buy a property in Chelsea
- Dave phoned in sick at Premier Foods two days after scooping jackpot
- Couple plan to get married in Portugal next year
How pleased I am to see that they shall be sharing out their millions between friends, some form of rarity I feel! Can we honestly say we would all do that? I think their intentions are quite level headed to what they are going to spend with their money. The norm of a new house, cars and properties abroad in-between giving some to charity! Well I would certainly give some to charity and share some out (I’m sure) though in all honesty I do not think I would want to be given such a high amount. Easy to say that I’m sure as I haven’t won it you’re thinking... but give me £1Million or 2 and that would be fantastic, just he right amount to spend in a suitable way and also be a little crazy but other than buying a different property and such a Million I wouldn’t deem to be LIFE CHANGING, whereas £101 Million IS and far too much. I would simply not like the responsibility of being shoved on a plane to a foreign resort to “reflect” on what I want to do with my winnings... I just wouldn’t like it! People's perceptions of you change, your status symbol in society and I can imagine so will your life outlook.
I certainly wouldn’t go public that’s for sure! We are all struggling financially with household bills and necessities however to be given such an amount of money on a plate, not that I would refuse, but I would find it extremely difficult to handle... money is the root of all evil after all!
