A recent survey has revealed that Women get the most pleasure form buying a new Handbag than any other item, even more so than the thrill of browsing and purchasing a new pair of shoes!
One in four women said that they had a high and intense sense of happiness when purchasing a new bag than any other item. A summer dress and a tight fitting pair of Jeans were amongst the other top 10 purchases women like to buy...according to the survey.
Dermot Dennehy spokesman for Shopping Website saveme4later.com said:
“Everyone knows that women love shopping but it’s interesting to see what items women get the most pleasure from buying.”
The survey also revealed that women put most thought into a Winter Coat when purchasing however they would buy underwear without a second thought and consideration.
Eighty One percent of the women surveyed also revealed that they are more careful with their money in recent times than what they were five years ago and therefore have a more deep, satisfying pleasure if they are buying something new.

1 Handbag, 2 Shoes, 3 Summer dresses, 4 Concert tickets, 5 Jeans, 6 Jewellery, 7 Little black dress, 8 Chocolates, 9 Underwear, 10 Beauty products.
Even though I am not a woman, guys I’m sure you shall agree with me... this is no surprise to us! Us men are more the gadget lovers though of course modern males do like to keep fashionable and “in trend” I myself shall admit to feeling and gaining some sort of pleasure and excitement by buying a new pair of jeans for instance or even a coat. I am still very surprised Shoes aren’t at the top of the survey! There seems to be no end of women who get pleasure from buying a new pair of 10 inch high heels, yet who am I to argue with a survey! My mum is an avid Bag Hoarder, not just any sort of bags... special bags such as in the shapes of Crocodiles, Panda’s or even unusual ostentatious designs such as Piano’s or things which glitter of all kinds! Maybe I could even call my Mum a “fashionable woman!” nothing wrong with taking pride in your appearance and anyway surely bags are more useful than shoes? you can at least store things in them! Concert Tickets being at number 4 on the list does surprise me though, maybe it would help if they specified the age of these women who were surveyed?
I wouldn’t have thought Concert Tickets would have been a priority... especially more than Chocolate surely? I think we all get a “buzz” off buying something these days anyway, especially with the way things are financially. Though buying material objects can be a stressful procedure at the best of times, if I buy a Television series box set for example I never feel happy until I have the complete set, the full series, it makes me feel I MUST buy to complete my set on my shelf, little things! Really when it comes down to it... admit it lads, you get a “thrill” from buying things as well... though possibly not handbags!
