I’m all for a new year, a new start and a new slate but I am rather sceptical and feeling somewhat reserved about that this time round as this time next year we won’t hear the last of those damn Olympic Games! I am preparing myself here and now, wondering just how I can avoid the future over hyped sporting activities... my conclusion? I think I and of course my fellow sport haters are going to find it a struggle!
I am all for team building and believe that sporting is a great way to build moral amongst a group of people, however if you are simply not interested in sport of any kind the entire thing is just excruciatingly boring! The 2012 Olympic games is going to bring London to a standstill, the events shall be plastered all over the media and I for one am living in dread already. I shall continue to evaluate the situation until the end of the year to just what I can do to be seemingly blissfully aware that the Olympics are even taking place when indeed they do... Maybe I could just barricade myself away from the world for the duration? I’m sure I shall be fine if you lock me away with an endless supply of Cadbury’s Bournville, Bitter Lemon and some complete television series DVD box sets, if not I may just ever so slightly lose the plot... though of course any of the UK participants have my full support, it is just that I do not to wish to see them endure the struggle of claiming victory. Here’s hoping for a state of sanity in the year 2012! Until then, it is just 3 weeks or so to Halloween and then I expect each and every one of you to at least have bought your Christmas card packs in advance!
