After a successful visit to the Dentist last week and being told that I have a “clean set” of nashers... other than a few coffee stains, I could hardly believe the price of the dental equipment I was being urged to use in order to keep my clean teeth to a professional polished standard. I am the user of an electronic toothbrush, nothing fancy, yet can notice a difference between using it against the hand held traditional method! I enquired about what household dental equipment such as toothbrushes, flossers and polishers there is out there on the commercial market along with prices and I was aghast when I was recommended a flossing set for the hefty price tag of over £300! They seemed to be all perfectly aligned on a poster, making me feel as if I was inadequate if I wasn’t to own one of these pieces of modern mouth gadgetry!
We all have parts of our body that we don’t like or are paranoid about and mine seems to be the teeth! I unashamedly long for them to be the perfect pearly white and envy those TV personalities who come on camera with the perfect pearly white smile, yet in reality without paying hefty prices for either professional whitening or products which give a professional standard clean and polish after every use, it is something which you have to prepare to pay for or simply you won’t get your desired look. After many a hesitation and thought I have decided I shall invest in a new all singing and all dancing toothbrush! not only because I have found a terribly good deal online on one of the apparent “market leaders” I am a typical male gadget lover underneath and the idea of having a wireless monitor which counts down your teeth cleaning time, with a pressure sensor informing you as to whether or not you are forcing your brush too hard or not along with a star rating as to how successful your teeth cleaning session was... is far too hard to resist and so I have given in! Just like having your own personal dentist with you, how thrilling and filled with excitement I am at the thought! It apparently does actually work and isn’t even a novelty... though I fall for many a novelty which seem to fall flat after just a few uses, so it shall be interesting to see whether or not my new found gadget actually works... or whether I have fallen for the advertising over the product!
