Me and my Mum have been in something of a tizz this week as our much loved yet overused Tumble Dryer suddenly decided to stop heating up. Believe it or not it took us 3 days to realise it, despite removing 3 loads of washing from it 3 days running and simply wondering as to why it was still soaking wet when removed.
After a full day of button pressing and knob twirling we finally realised that the whole damn thing had given up on us and has caused us a minor inconvenience of having an entire pile of wet washing laying around in the kitchen and an over sized piece of machinery just spinning wet clothes round. 2 Dryers and 4 call-out repairs in a 5 month period isn’t good is it? I’m sure after a repair man fiddles and fumbles with it, it shall be repaired for another month or so... but I cannot help wondering whether it would just be easier all round if my household went back to the days of a good old simple mangle! Nothing electronic and with just a fair few turns of a handle and a little bit of effort, your clothes are dry... who said gadgets and gizmo's are a helpful improvement on yesteryear's ways and means? I would say at the moment they are a simple hindrance and unreliable!
