The most recent ATSA event, which was the Key Stage One Football Festival, took place earlier today at Pennington FC.
Over 100 children, representing 15 teams, took part in the event. Teams came from:
St. George's Central, Hindsford CE, Sacred Heart, St. Philip's, St. Michael's, Meadowbank, Holy Family, St. John's, Atherton St. George's, Parklee, St. Ambrose Barlow, St. Stephen's, St. Richard's and two teams from Pennington FC.
Teams were organised into three groups with each playing the other teams in their group once over the course of the evening. Matches were of a high standard and it was great to see lots of dedication and enthusiasm from all the children.
The two trophies on offer for 'sporting team' and 'team of the festival' went to Atherton St. George's and Parklee respectively.
Kev Doyley, Youth Section Secretary at Pennington FC said:
"It was a very enjoyable day and exactly what Pennington FC is about. Fun, enjoyment and a healthy competitive spirit. Thanks to all involved, we are looking forward to our next school event"
I would like to thank all the officials from Pennington FC who not only hosted this event for the third year running, but ensured that they had everything in place to meet the needs of all participants and spectators. Their commitment to the event was outstanding and captured the essence of ATSA. Special thanks must be given to Kev who I know played a pivotal role in the smooth running of this event, although he couldn't unfortunately control the weather!
