ATSA Y3/4 Futsal Festival

Friday 13th March saw children from 8 primary schools take part in the first ever ATSA Y3/4 Futsal Festival.

Over 40 children from: St. George's Central, St. Philip's, Garrett Hall, Atherton St. George's, St. Richard's, Holy Family, St. Stephen's and Parklee all took part in this festival, which is an amended version of indoor football. The event was organised by Mr C Yates from FunSports4Kidz.

The schools were divided into two groups with the top team from each group meeting in the final. In group one Garrett Hall won all their matches to progress to the final. In group two, Holy Family gained the most points to meet their local rivals in the final.

In an exciting final match, Holy Family had an early chance to take the lead but Garrett Hall soon had several chances of their own and the Holy Family goalkeeper made some great saves to keep the scores equal. The rest of the game was 'end to end' until two quick goals settled the game in favour of Garrett Hall.

I would like to thank Mr Yates for organising this event on behalf of ATSA, and Fred Longworth High School for allowing us to use their facilities to host this event. For any further information on Futsal for children in our local area, please contact Mr Yates on 07738631051.

The picture shows the winning Garrett Hall team with their trophy, medals and winning certificate.
