Thursday 29th January saw 115 children from 13 primary schools in Atherton and Tyldesley take part in the ATSA Y5/6 Dodgeball festival which took place at Atherton Community School.
St. George's Central, Sacred Heart, St. Stephen's, St. Michael's, Holy Family, Chowbent, Parklee, Atherton St. George's, St. Richard's, St. John's, Tyldesley Primary, Meadowbank and Hindsford all brought teams of children to take part in the event which was facilitated by ATSA.
The schools were divided into two groups with the top two teams from each group meeting in a semi final match. Eventually the finalists were decided and it was the children from St. Michael's who met St. George's Central in the final.
Both schools played their part in a tense final match, however congratulations went to the children from St. Michael's who edged the final, securing the victory in the final moments of the match.
I would like to thank Mr Bold from ACS for organising this event and allowing us to use their facilities to host this competition. Thanks also should go to Miss Williams and sports leaders, Abbie and Joe from the school who helped to officiate at the festival. A mention also to the many supporters who came to event to help create a fantastic atmosphere.
