Atherton Community Charity Launch 29th July 2011 The Formby Hall Community Trust (Atherton) Limited a charity initially set up to mount a bid to operate the Formby Hall, Atherton on behalf of the community, has now changed it's objectives to raising funds to support community projects which will enrich the lives of the community through various activities including music, art, culture, sport. education, hobbies and pastimes.
Councillor Norman Bradbury the Chair of the charity said:
" The Formby Hall Community Trust has been able to develop a partnership with Rose Leisure, the new owners of the hall which will ensure a guaranteed income through a donation of 50p to the charity from each ticket sold for events held in the venue. Rose Leisure have also agreed to offer free or subsidises room hire for the Trusts fund raising events."
A joint launch event for the Charity and Rose Leisure will be held at the Formby Hall on the 29th July 2011 this will not only generate funds for the charity, but will give Rose Leisure an opportunity to introduce itself to the community.
The event on the 29th July 2011 commencing at 7.00pm will feature the very popular local group "ASIS" a totally live experience not to be missed, in addition to the Formby Hall's resident compere.
Tickets for this event are available from the Mountain Dew Pub on Market Street, Atherton, or directly from the Formby Hall. Tickets can also be purchased on the night.
Our local MP Julie Hilling, a member of the Trust, together with local Councillors will be attending the event to help launch the charity. Application forms to join the Charity will be available on the night, the annual fee for membership being £5.
