Parklee School recently took part in the fantastic event that is the Young Voices concert. The children, staff and parents put in a lot of work beforehand to learn the songs and dance moves, which turned out to be a fantastic day.
On Tuesday the 24th January 8,000 children from all over the North West gathered at the M.E.N arena, Manchester, to sing and dance together.
With pure determination and passion, Parklee school choir practiced for the event each week after school to the songs by The Wanted, Katy Perry and a Queen melody.
For over 15 years now Young Voices has been introducing children to a wide variety of music and performance opportunities by encouraging everyone to learn, enjoy and share music and singing.
Parklee pupils and teachers participated in their first ‘Young Voices‘ concert in 2009 and enjoyed it so much they have been back again and again.
Mrs Karen Parkin, Teacher in charge of music at Parklee said: “Young Voices’ helps us to deliver our music curriculum in a vibrant, enjoyable, exciting way and the concert itself is an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to get started on next year’s songs!”
