Money and cigarettes were stolen during a robbery in Wigan.
At 9.25pm on Monday 23 January 2012, three men walked into the Co-op store on Gadfield Grove, Atherton. One of them was carrying a hammer.
They demanded two staff members lay on the floor before they put a large amount of cigarettes in bed sheets.
Money was taken from the tills and all three left in a grey Ford Focus with the registration X668. The number plates and been stolen from the Leigh area the previous night.
No one was hurt.
The man holding a hammer is described as 6ft tall, of medium build and spoke with a local accent.
All three men were wearing dark clothing, dark trainers and had their faces covered.
Detective Constable Gavin Cunliffe from Wigan CID said: “This was a traumatic experience for the staff and I would appeal to anyone who saw these men leave the shop and get in the car to contact us as soon as possible.
“I would also ask members of the public who has been approached by people selling cigarettes or anyone who has information about the number plates being stolen to get in touch.”
