Motorcyclist injured in collision

A man is in a critical condition in hospital following a road traffic collision in Leigh.

The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man, was riding a red Suzuki motorbike along Manchester Road towards Leigh shortly before 11.20am on Saturday 26 March 2011.

As he approached the junction with Devon Street he collided with the kerb.

He was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to call the Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 7201.
