Duo charged after boiler stolen - Leigh

Two people have been charged after police followed a trail of water left from a boiler stolen from a house in Leigh.

Desmond Alker (born 22/09/1972) of Firs Lane, Leigh, and Stephen Edward Darbyshire (born 14/02/1981), of no fixed abode, are charged with burglary and theft and were due before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on 30 November 2010.

Police were called to a house on Firs Lane at 1.50am on Monday 29 November 2010, following reports of a break-in.

 

Officers attended a few minutes later and discovered a boiler had been removed from the kitchen.

The officers followed a trail of frozen water to a nearby address where they recovered the boiler.
