Thieves caught cold after police follow water trail from stolen boiler - Leigh

Two men have been arrested after police followed a trail of water left from a boiler stolen from a house in Leigh.

Police were called to a house on Firs Lane at 1.50am on Monday 29 November 2010, following reports of a break-in.

Officers attended a few minutes later and discovered a boiler had been removed from the kitchen.

The officers followed a trail of frozen water to a nearby address where they recovered a boiler and arrested two men, aged 38 and 29 on suspicion of burglary.

They remain in police custody for questioning.
