Boy, 12, injured in bike collision - Leigh

Police are seeking witnesses to a collision in which a 12-year-old schoolboy was injured while riding his BMX on the pavement.

At about 2pm on Saturday 13 November 2010, the boy was riding his white BMX on the path opposite Westleigh Primary School, on Westleigh Lane, Leigh, when a red sports car driven by a 24-year-old man mounted the pavement and collided with him.

The boy suffered a deep cut to his leg and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The driver was spoken to at the time of the incident but officers now want to hear from any other witnesses.
