Convenience store robbery - Leigh

A man stole cash, scratch cards and cigarettes from a convenience store in Leigh.

The offender went into H & S on Holden Road, Leigh at 8.50pm on Friday 22 October 2010, with his face covered.

He pushed the 46-year-old woman working in the store to the end of the counter and demanded cash from the till.

He then stole scratch cards, cigarettes and a bottle of gin before walking out.

Detective Constable Rachel Forsythe from Wigan CID said: "The victim was understandably scared and intimidated by this man and he needs to be caught."

"If anyone has any information or recognises the description of the offender, please call police."

The offender is described as white, aged mid to late 20s, 5ft 4in tall and was wearing a dark coloured padded jacket with the hood up so only his eyes, nose and mouth were visible. He is believed to have got into a green new shape Volkswagen Golf.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7149 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
