I found out about a community group that's run by Athertonians and aims to make sure the town continues to have a place for secondary education. Their press release states:
"The Green Grass Group is a community group working towards securing the future for secondary education in Atherton. We are a group of parents, educationalists and community members working to establish a new community school in the town."
"We are named the Green Grass Group after the Green Grass Centre where we hold our meetings. We also feel the name reflects the grass roots nature of the group. Its an open group and anyone interested in working towards setting up a new secondary school in Atherton can join. More information and updates are available on our Facebook page [HERE]."
That's all we have at the moment but as soon as we get more information we'll publish it on the site...
