Convicted robber wanted on recall to prison - Wigan

Police have released an image of a convicted robber wanted on recall to prison.

Martin Sydney O'Neill (born 20/08/1986) of Bird Street, Higher Ince, has been recalled to prison after breaking the conditions of his licence.

O'Neill was jailed for six years in July 2004 for robbery and section 20 assault (causing grievous bodily harm).

He was released from prison on licence in July 2009.

Since release, O'Neill has failed to comply with the conditions of his licence and has been recalled to prison.

O'Neill is a white man, aged 24, about 5ft 4in tall, of slim build, with blue eyes and usually has short brown hair. He speaks with an Irish accent.

Police Constable Matthew Higham, based at Wigan Police Station, said: "O'Neill has proved that he deserves to serve out the rest of his sentence by flouting the terms he was released on.

"Somebody must know where he is and I appeal to these people to come forward with any information regarding his current whereabouts so that he can rightfully be sent back to prison."

Anyone with information is asked to called police in Wigan on 0161 856 7129 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
