Appeal to Tyldesley residents after man is arrested

Police are appealing for the owners of property believed to be stolen from Tyldesley to come forward.

A BMX bike, jet washer and two pairs of football boots were found when a 26-year-old man was stopped on Astley Street in the early hours of Tuesday 16 March 2010.

The man was arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped to steal. He has been bailed pending further police inquiries.

Police Constable Sophie Roberts said: "At the moment, nobody has reported these items missing, but we are keen to establish whether or not they were stolen in a burglary.

"We hope people may recognise their items in the images we are releasing."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7224 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
