More than 700 cannabis plants have been recovered in Leigh.
At about 4pm on Tuesday 9 February 2010, a warrant was executed at a flat on Chapel Street, Leigh.
A cannabis farm with 708 plants had been concealed behind walls as well as equipment used to grow the drugs.
Inquiries to trace the occupants of the flat are underway. Neighbourhood Inspector Ian Kennedy, said: "Every effort had been made to hide these plants but the overwhelming smell proved too strong to conceal.
"This is a major discovery and will be a big blow to those involved in selling the drugs on.
"We have acted on information received from the community and I would urge anyone else who might have information about those involved in the production, sale or supply of drugs to call police."
All the plants (total of 708, weighing 197 kilos) have now been destroyed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
