Help Litte Emma Beat Cancer
After last nights top quality fund raising do at Formby Hall (with Ricky Tomlinson and loads of other great acts) my faith in human kindness has been restored. I must once again call upon the folk of our little town of Atherton for help.
Emma Hoolin from Wigan has been diagnosed with a life threatening rare childhood cancer. She's only 4 years old and instead of starting school, she's now fighting for her life. In the UK we can only offer her a 'randomised trial' of drugs that could help her, but that's not the best treatment she could recieve.
We can potentially help save her life by donating a little money to their charity so she can be flown over to the US and recieve immunotherapy treatment which has a better chance of helping her get back to her usual self.
Please help this charity, just by donating even a small amount. I hate to coin a phrase but 'every little helps' in matters like these. If 1000 people donate even as little as £1 or £2 the numbers soon rack up.
Visit their Just Giving page, and Emma's website for more information about her, and to make a donation. Or you can text RWLH93 and your amount to 70070 to make a donation.
Thanks folks!
Here's the text from her appeal:
Hello,
My name is Emma Hoolin and I am 4 years old.
I live in Oak Hill Close, Whitley, Wigan with my Mum, Dad and big sister Lily.
In February this year I was diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma, a rare life threatening childhood cancer that mainly affects children under 5.
Suddenly instead of preparing for school I am fighting for my life!
My diagnosis has shattered everybody that loves me very much.
Treatment is making me very poorly, but I am a fighter and I deserve to live, I want to live!
As if life hasn't already been unfair to me, I am not going to recieve the very best treatment that is available in the world today.
In the UK I will be part of a randomised trial that will decide at the penultimate stage of my treatment which drugs I will recieve.
In the USA I can recieve a potentially life saving immunotherapy treatment.
My parents will NOT accept this. They will fight for me. They will do everything possible to raise the money needed to take me abroad for the very best treatment.
Please help them help me.
Thank you!
Love Emma x
