Sometimes you see a band and instantly know there is something special about them, and Chaos Theory definitely fall into that category. If I had to think of 2 words to describe them, those words would be "Infectious enthusiasm". Old Isaacs was packed to the rafters in anticipation, and anywhere booking these lads can expect an increased footfall with the growing numbers of fans, young and old, coming to see them. The image they project is strangely, yet satisfyingly different. A mismatch of Indie, Goth, Rock images, but with the music falling into all categories with ease. They formed in 2006 so have now been together for 3 years, which seems amazing when you see how young they are. But don't let those looks fool you, they play with the form and confidence of a well established band, and with their 'infectious enthusiasm' they work the crowd into a frenzy.
The confidence of frontman/singer Jonny Youle rubs off on the rest of the band, and then in turn the crowd, as he entertains, oozing confidence and flirting with the audience between numbers.
For a young man, he certainly has a more 'mature' voice, seldomly missing notes, and throwing out sounds that most older vocalists could only dream of. Mix that in with the tight, amazing drumming skills of Stu Welch, and the riffs of Chris Farron and Chris Darby and you have an instant gel. You know when a band enjoy themselves this much, when they entertain themselves just as much as they entertain the crowd, that you have something special. They loved it. The crowd loved it.

Even Mary, the landlady, was up on a table, dancing and singing along with everyone else. They played covers and a mixture of their own material, which in itself went down a storm. But songs such as All The Small Things, Smells Like Teen Spirit and Chelsea Dagger got the entire pub rocking and shouting for more. I managed to catch a few small videos of some of those 'moments' and you can see them via the link underneath. To sum them up is easy....brilliant! They are most certainly destined for bigger things, but I hope I can catch the band at a few more smaller venues before the time comes when we'll be paying big money to see these play. I, for one, will be one of the 'fans' who will be following them around the local venues. If they are playing near you, go and see them. You'd be a fool not to.
