Moody Blues

A poem by talented local poet John J Nutter, who will be have a book out to buy at local shops sometime in the new year (some of the cover price is being donated to charity). I'll update this post as soon as I find out more details.

Moody Blues

I am a man of moods and age,
A man of fun, a man of rage,
Changing, moving like seasons,
Now light, now dark, a man of reasons…

Why, I ask do moods appear,
Because of love, or is it fear,
I laugh, I cry, I’m meek, I’m vain,
I’m loud, I’m quiet, I suffer pain…

Into this world of strife I came,
And when I leave, will I have gained,
Will any friends be there to mourn,
Or will they laugh, and scoff and scorn…

I’d like to think that when I go,
There will be something left to show,
That I was here, these paths I’ve trod,
After I am placed, beneath the sod…
