Amazing 15.5 megapixel shot of St Pauls.

This really is amazing.  You can even zoom right up into the dome and look around and the Saints sat up there, even reading the inscriptions on artwork.  I can spend way too long on this.....

344 : Inspired by the Diaries of Elizabeth Gore 1844-1923

344 Front CoverSome of you may remember the book by local author Andrea Finney titled '344 - A Story of the Pretoria Pit Disaster (Inspired by a mother's tale)'.

Well the book is now going into a second print run which has extra content, including the names and the ages of the 344 men and boys who died. The front cover has also been redesigned and now ties in with the 100th Anniversary of the disaster on the 21st December 2010, making the book a Centenary memento.

A Story of the Pretoria Pit Disaster

Realeased on the 7th September, this book about the Pretoria Pit disaster has just been brought to out attention. The author Andrea Finney describes it as:

"a true story based on the life of my Gt Gt Grandmother Elizabeth Gore who lost her son in the disaster in 1910 - and how the pit disaster effected the lives of the communities.  I have also liaised with the Editor in Chief at Bolton News and included in the book is the reports on the days following the disaster by a reporter at the scene nearly 100 years ago."
